Savannah and Julie tackle all of these questions-as well as other responses to the same post-with personal experiences, anecdotes, and an apt metaphor of a person seeing their feminine spirit as an inflated beach ball which they can decide to puncture, force deeper under the water, or cling to to use as a flotation device.

IG | FB | web this episode, Julie brings to the table a series of questions that a listener posted. and a matter of displaying pride in the face of naysayers and to be that beacon of visibility for others looking for community. In the end, the gesture was more symbolic. When living in a conservative state with neighbors who have already shown their colors and laid claim to their anti-LGBTQ+ perspectives, this simple display of bright colors was way more than the simple planting of a physical flag. Why, you ask? Because the colors of this flag weren't the red, white and blue of the unity of the country, but the symbolic baby blue, pink and white of the transgender flag. While Savannah admits she isn't a big fan of domestic chores, yard work, or repairs, this specific task included so many nuanced dilemmas for her. IG | FB | web this episode, Savannah tells Julie about her struggles with the seemingly simple-yet vastly complex-task of putting a flag out in one of the street-facing flowerbeds. Julie has made it her life’s work to help MTF individuals feel safe and confident when it comes to their female persona, expression and identity.
